Gosh, these old 1940s Good Housekeeping magazine ads have ALL the answers for us women! I'd better start hunting down a vintage Spirella corset and see if that will solve my back problems! Looks like I will then be able to "breeze through a day's work feeling like my old bright self"! (Click on the ad to read the itty bitty print!)

I have a 'Make do and Mend' book which tells you about all of the things and ideas to make items last longer etc during the 1930's and 1940's. Very interesting and with the environemnt issues some of the ideas are making a comeback.
