Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail

I love vintage Easter stuff, can you tell? I especially have a fondness/weakness for vintage egg dye packages! It's hard anymore to find a pack or a box I don't already have! I also love the vintage plastic candy containers, cardboard candy boxes, advertising signs, wrapping paper, stuffed bunnies and even unique bunny related items, like the crayons, board game and safety pins!

A large part of my collection is housed in a beautiful old wooden bookcase that came out of the original Madison, IN library. It stands in our front foyer so I see it every single day! I have another small glass case that holds overflow and then other items are mixed all around! The large pink paper mache rabbit holding the purple Easter egg was purchased on our honeymoon and his eyes light up!

Is This a Library or What?

Mom and I recently went to a great book sale and of course I scored some great books for my Etsy shop! I just recently finished putting them all away!

Please, My Basement is Not a Reptile Refuge

Let's get this post over with and move onto better things.

Yesterday, I spent some time down in the basement working on my reorganization of Etsy back stock. The books are just about tackled, the holiday is better and I can finally see more of the floor at the bottom of the steps! I decided to put away a few gifts for Tim and Mom that were accumulating around so I started moving the three stacked storage containers under the steps.

That is when I made the horrible discovery of yet another SNAKE! Yuk! I immediately went running upstairs screaming for Tim, grabbed the camera and sent my husband down to deal with it! I handed him the camera this time as I just simply didn't have the stomach to get so close this time.

Tim got the snake, cleaned off the storage container and used his trusty flashlight to look in all of the cracks and crevices nearby.

Okay, so the first one I figured was a fluke, this one has me concerned! I don't want to stumble upon any more reptiles in my basement thank you very much!

Little Jaunt to Lexington

A couple of weekends ago, mom and I took off and headed to Lexington, KY for the day. Tim, once again, had to remain at home and work on tax stuff and video editing stuff!

We went to a little show that's held monthly in an old warehouse building and then hit a couple of antique shops/malls nearby, two used bookstores and a little local restaurant with just THE BEST burgers ever! I ran into an "old friend", my little plastic Marx vanity table. I had one just like it as a child and LOVED it. I now regret that it was sold at a yard sale. I just can't bring myself to buy one when I stumble upon them in an antique mall or flea market because it's not the one I actually had. I'm silly like that with toys from my past!

Found some goodies, once again mainly for my etsy shop! I found some great old children's books and readers as usual as well as a stack of 11 old JC Penney/Sears catalogs from the 1950s and 1960s. They showed up just in time as I had a huge custom order for catalog pages depicting infant and children's wear right after I got those! Fun old advertising and pictures!
