Treasures!

I'm back! Wow, can't believe it's been two weeks! I've been SO busy! I've been listing like crazy on etsy and trying to get our Christmas presents worked in! Slowly but surely....

My buddy Barry at the post office convinced me to stop by his auction preview Fri night and check out the goods. I was pleasantly surprised to find two tables and boxes and boxes of old games mainly from the late 60s early 70s! I immediately called Tim who ran over as it was just a couple of blocks from our house!

So, Saturday morning found us at the auction. I literally had not been to one in probably 10 years. They just aren't usually my cup of tea. Tim bid on a couple of old movie cameras but didn't get them for the price he was willing to pay. He headed back home and I stayed behind. Mom ended up meeting me over there later and we just killed the day there. I have to confess it was pretty fun. My best score was a Which Witch game, complete and in fabulous condition!, that I had been eyeing for Tim. I passed one up recently at the Stewart's Flea Market as it was just too pricey! Score! This one was a steal! I also got a Smokey the Bear game, for the board, a neat game called Let's Drive (I liked the graphics!), and then some goodies for my etsy shop!

Mom was thrilled with her two new vintage dress forms and very old clothing display rack from Stewart's Dept. store on old Fourth Street!

The day before, I made a quick trip to a local antique mall to drop off Tim's dvd's that they sell and found some fab children's books which are also pictured! Oh, and another stop at a little shop that sometimes has treasures and found all the old carded buttons!

The Last of the Christmas Trees

The forest of trees finally made their way to our little hidden closet in the den today! Some had already been stashed away in the attic but the giant den tree and several other smaller ones always go in the closet! Tim was a trooper and crammed them in again this year, creating more room than you could ever imagine this little narrow closet could have! So good to have them put away!

And Now, Back to Christmas

My friend Dottie lives in a darling little house and at Christmas it truly looks like a cottage right out of the story books! I loved her rotating tree filled with beautiful ornaments and the little touches all around her home!

Moving on to Valentine's Day!

I promise to get back to Christmas and some close up pictures of our fun gifts but I've been so busy trying to get my Christmas trees and decorations put away and getting Valentine's listed in my etsy shop that I haven't had time! Throw in another big order of 20 books to Australia and six 1920s/1930s readers handpicked for my gal in Canada and inquiries and custom orders left and right...whew...I've been a busy girl working night and day!

I'm finally sitting down today listing these cute novelty Valentine's in my etsy shop so I thought I'd share some of my favorites with you!

Jackpot!

The annual New Year's Flea Market was this past week and Mom and I were there bright and early ready to fill our carts! Tim met us right after work and stumbled around (poor guy was sooo tired!) the best he could! Found lots of treasures for my etsy shop and just a few keepers! Tim treated himself to some dvd's, a model kit and a 1960s Civil Defense Fallout Shelter sign (unused, old stock!) with some of his Christmas money! Mom found a couple of hats for her vintage hat collection, some Valentine candy boxes, a vintage wedding cake topper, old photos, greeting cards and misc. ephemera! The pictures above are items for my etsy shop! Will post my keepers soon! Looks like grandmother's attic is going to be well stocked this year!
