The California Slide Show

Finally! This only took days to create! Anyway, hope you enjoy a peek into our week in Southern California! Tim always wanted to go to DisneyLAND so off we went for this year's anniversary trip! (#8!!)

We enjoyed staying across the street from Disneyland, the California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney in Anaheim, spending a day in the historic district of Orange (antiquing galore and lunch at an old drugstore soda fountain!), taking a day trip to Universal Studios and going on the most awesome VIP Experience Tour (I highly recommend this, it's worth every cent!), meeting our friends Chrys and Bill in person (finally!) and spending time with them the last two days of our trip (including a trip to Scrapbook Oasis where I got to meet Nora Griffin (scrapbook guru), a great lunch at a Mexican restaurant, more toy shopping, a great dinner at P.F. Changs and a loong day trip to Hollywood and LA where we went on a 6 1/2 hour plus tour of the beaches, the movie star homes and downtown LA!)

We ran day and night as usual, had a bad case of jet lag (especially the first night when we flew all day (a quick layover in Vegas, sniff...) and then went to Disney upon our arrival and stayed for the fireworks at 9:25 pm (12:25 AM our time!), hitting the pillow finally at 2 am, picked up a few treasures for our collections back home as well as the usual souvenirs, took over 1400 pictures, saw no movie stars, did see the closed set of Desperate Housewives, Jaws, Cabot Cove, the Psycho house and Bates motel and the prop warehouse (SUPER FUN!) at Universal, saw the rooftops, hedges and gates of movie star homes (okay, that was slightly disappointing!) and had just an overall blast!

Upon our arrival back in Southern Indiana it has literally rained almost every day and been overcast and humid! What a switch! However, you could not pay me to fight the traffic on those LA freeways!

Too bad that's not really my body! Just my head! Ha ha! Tim thinks I make a pretty good blonde though! Now I know what color to go with when the gray starts showing up!

8 Years Ago Today

Tim and I were married a few feet away from the very spot on which we met one fateful day in May of 1999.

Ten years together, 8 as husband and wife.

Tim, you will always be my soulmate, my friend, the love of my life. I hope we never stop making one another laugh...

Most all for my etsy shop but the last two pictures are keepers! A handful of things came from my jaunt over to the new Dixie Trading Post in Louisville last Wednesday.

Stewart's Labor Day Flea Market

Friday morning Mom and I went out to the fairgrounds to the annual Stewart's Labor Day flea market. Tim met us there after work about 12:30. Boy was it a good show this time! Unfortunately, we found a lot of good stuff! I hear Tim found something extra special for me for Christmas, he found a couple of goodies for himself and I found lots of treasures for my etsy shop and a few things to keep for myself! Mom had a ball too and found some things for her collections. We enjoyed visting with some of our dealer friends and are looking forward to a visit to a local dealer to see his collections soon! We stayed until closing and still didn't see everything!

Moving Day!

Today was the big day! I arrived at the old Emery's location bright and early this morning. It took longer than they anticipated to finish getting the building prepped today and moved off the lot but once they got going it went fast! I was able to take a lot of video and get a lot of pictures even as it moved down the main roads! Tim wasn't able to get off work early so he missed the entire thing. I was so glad I was able to see it arrive on our property because they needed me to juggle still juggle vehicles. I didn't get to see it make the final landing on our back lot as I had to get to work but I heard all went well. So, now the restoration begins and hopefully a permanent location will be found in time!
